Support
A real person reads every message, and that person is the one who built the app. Tell us what happened and we will sort it out.
The fastest way to reach us
Message us from inside the app. Open BrainTrain and tap the message icon — it goes straight to us, and we can see your account when we answer, so there is nothing for you to look up or explain twice.
If you cannot get into the app, email support@braintrainapp.com from the address you signed up with. We answer within one business day.
The app is empty — there are no activities
This is the most common thing people write in about, and it is almost always the same cause: your program has not been switched on yet.
BrainTrain does not let people enroll themselves. Every program is started by hand at our end, so there is a gap between creating your account and having anything to do. Message us or email support@braintrainapp.com and we will switch you on, usually the same day.
Once you are on, your first day begins when you first play — not when we switched you on. Nothing piles up while you are getting organized, and you will not arrive on Day 12 having trained twice.
Signing in
You can sign in with an email address and password, with Apple, or with Google. Use the same method every time — signing in with Google when you originally signed up with email creates a second, empty account rather than opening your existing one.
Forgotten your password? Tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen and we will email you a reset link. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder before writing in.
If you used Sign in with Apple and chose to hide your email, that is fine and everything works normally — we only ever see Apple's relay address.
The exercises feel too hard, or too easy
After each exercise you rate it: 1 Too Hard, 2 Just Right, or 3 Too Easy. That rating is not a survey. It is the control that sets your next session.
Rate it Too Easy twice in a row and the app moves you up. Rate it Too Hard once and it eases off straight away — it backs down faster than it climbs, on purpose. So the honest answer is always the right one, and being generous to spare our feelings will walk you into exercises you cannot do.
If a level still feels wrong after a few days, tell us and we will set it by hand.
Sound and read-aloud
The instructions can be read aloud to you. If you hear nothing, check that your ringer switch is not on silent and that the volume is up while the app is open — iPhones keep a separate volume for what is on screen.
You can do every exercise with the sound off. Nothing is only explained out loud.
A video will not play or keeps stopping
The exercises stream, so they need a working internet connection — they do not download in advance. On a weak connection, try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular. If it still will not play, close the app fully and reopen it, and if that fails, message us with the name of the activity and roughly what time you tried.
Daily reminders
If you have allowed notifications, BrainTrain sends one reminder in the morning when a new session is ready. One a day, nothing else.
To stop them, open Account → Reminders and turn the daily reminder off. You do not need to disable notifications for the whole app or delete anything.
Taking a break
If you need to step away for more than a week or two, tell us and we will pause your program. Pausing holds your place: when you come back, you pick up on the day you left rather than finding a month of missed sessions waiting for you.
Paying for BrainTrain
There is nothing to buy inside the app, and it will never ask you for card details. If you are taking part in the beta, it is free for the whole beta.
Deleting your account
Open the app and go to Account → Delete Account. That permanently removes your profile, your training history and ratings, your enrollment, your messages, and your sign-in credential. It cannot be undone and we cannot restore it.
If you only want the reminders to stop, turn them off under Reminders instead — see above.
Our Privacy Policy describes exactly what is stored and why.
Still stuck
Email support@braintrainapp.com. It helps if you say which iPhone or iPad you have, what you were doing when it went wrong, and what you expected to happen instead. A screenshot is worth a great deal.
